Tanners Creek makes salves that are good for your skin. The salves are hand crafted in small batches using no artificial preservatives, artificial color or petroleum derived products. After a back injury in 1997 I discovered that many products designed to treat strained and over exerted muscles contain petroleum products, alcohol or chemical preservatives. I decided to create a better, more holistic alternative which became my first product, Arnica Salve. Selected flowers are steeped in warm oil and then the infusion is filtered several times. Vitamin E and tea tree oil act as natural preservatives. Beeswax is used for consistency instead of petroleum derivatives. No alcohol is used because it is too drying. Arnica Salve is wonderful used on aching, overexerted muscles. It can also help to dissipate bruises.
Boo Boo Salve was formulated at the request of a chiropractor client who wanted a
first aid salve for his patients made from natural ingredients instead of the usual antibiotic ointments. The formula I created is made from an infusion of 7 flowers plus essential oils known for their healing properties. It is an all around first aid salve.
The synergy among the ingredients in both salves is what makes them so
effective. The salves are continuously tested on friends, family and yes, pets. Our experience is that Golden Retrievers love having salves rubbed into their injuries but Dalmatians seem skeptical. Cats are reluctant members of the R&D team, while friends and offspring are eternally grateful. I choose each ingredient for its unique therapeutic quality, resulting in skin care products I'm sure you will use again and again.
